Privacy Policy

winning.monster ("we," "our," or "the Site") is a free, browser-based lottery tax estimator. This policy explains what information the Site does — and deliberately does not — handle. The short version: everything you type into the calculator stays on your device, and beyond the calculator the Site uses only standard website analytics and, where shown, Google-served advertising — both disclosed fully below.

1. Information you enter into the calculator

Jackpot amounts, filing status, income figures, state selections, tax rates, and charitable-giving inputs are processed entirely by JavaScript running in your own browser. They are never transmitted to, received by, or stored on our servers. We have no accounts, no sign-ups, and no database of user calculations. The calculator itself does not use cookies to store your inputs; analytics and advertising services may use cookies or similar storage as described in sections 3, 4, and 6, subject to your privacy choices. When you close the page, your inputs are gone.

2. Information collected automatically

Like virtually all websites, the server or hosting platform that delivers the Site's files may automatically record standard technical logs — such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, referring page, and timestamp — for security, capacity, and abuse-prevention purposes. These logs are generated by the hosting infrastructure, are not linked to any calculator inputs (which never leave your browser), and are retained only as long as the hosting provider's standard policy requires.

3. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

The Site uses Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js, property G-50M8VGR2DT), a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how the Site is used in aggregate — for example, which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, approximate geographic region (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and general interaction events. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers (such as the _ga cookie) to distinguish visits.

What analytics never sees: the numbers and selections you enter into the calculator — jackpot amounts, income, state choices, tax rates, and giving levels — are processed only in your browser and are not sent to Google Analytics or to us.

Information generated by the analytics cookie about your use of the Site is transmitted to and stored by Google, and is processed subject to Google's privacy policy. Analytics cookies are set only after you allow them in the consent prompt shown on your first visit (Google Consent Mode v2 defaults everything to “denied” until you choose). You can also prevent collection with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or a content blocker, and you can reopen the prompt at any time via the “Privacy choices” link in the footer.

4. Advertising (Google AdSense)

The Site displays, or may display, advertisements served by Google and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies (such as the DoubleClick/Google advertising cookies) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to show you personalized ads where permitted.

Your choices: you can opt out of personalized advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and from many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe). A consent prompt asks for your permission before advertising cookies are set (advertising storage defaults to “denied” under Google Consent Mode v2), and you may decline or change your choice at any time via the “Privacy choices” link in the footer. In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, personalized ads are additionally subject to Google’s certified consent-management requirements.

As always, the numbers and selections you enter into the calculator are processed only in your browser and are never shared with advertising partners.

6. Cookies and local storage

Apart from the Google Analytics cookies described in section 3 and the advertising cookies described in section 4, the Site sets no cookies of its own. The Site stores exactly one small entry in your browser's local storage: your cookie-consent choice, so we don't re-ask on every visit. Your calculator inputs are held only in the page's memory while it is open and are never written to storage.

7. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults of legal lottery-playing age. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13, and the Site's design (no data collection) makes such collection structurally impossible through the calculator itself.

8. Your rights

We do not collect or store personal information through the calculator itself. For analytics data held by Google or information in hosting logs, you may exercise rights under applicable law (such as the GDPR or a U.S. state privacy law) by contacting us; we will work with our providers to respond as the law requires. The opt-out tools in sections 3 and 4 stop analytics and personalized-ad collection going forward at any time.

9. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Because calculator data never leaves your device, the most privacy-protective step — not collecting the data at all — is built into the architecture.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how the Site handles information, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be noted prominently on the homepage.
