Welcome to winning.monster (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. What the Site is — and is not
The Site provides free, browser-based educational estimates of U.S. federal and state taxes on lottery winnings, charitable-giving scenarios, and summaries of state winner-disclosure rules. The Site is not a tax preparer, law firm, accounting firm, or financial advisor, and nothing on the Site constitutes tax, legal, investment, accounting, or financial advice, or creates any professional-client relationship. The Site is for information only. All financial decisions — including how to claim, invest, structure, or donate a prize — carry risk, including the risk of loss; you are strongly encouraged to consider those risks and to consult qualified financial advisors and other licensed professionals before acting on anything you see here.
2. No reliance; verify everything
- Estimates are based on published tax parameters for tax year 2026 (including IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32 and state rate tables) and simplifying assumptions described in the FAQs & methodology section. Your actual liability depends on your complete tax situation and will differ.
- Tax rates, statutes, anonymity rules, and lottery procedures change, sometimes retroactively. We review the data periodically but make no promise that any figure is current at the moment you use it.
- Before making any decision about claiming, structuring, investing, or donating a prize, consult a certified public accountant and an attorney licensed in the relevant state.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful, personal, informational purposes. You may not scrape the Site at disruptive volume, attempt to interfere with its operation, misrepresent its outputs as professional advice, or use the Site's name or outputs to imply endorsement by winning.monster, any state lottery, or any government agency.
4. Intellectual property
The Site's design, text, code, graphics, and compiled data presentations are the property of winning.monster and are protected by applicable copyright laws. You may link to the Site freely and quote brief excerpts with attribution. Underlying public facts (such as statutory tax rates) are not claimed as proprietary.
5. No affiliation; third-party data
winning.monster is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any state lottery (including the Ohio Lottery Commission), the Multi-State Lottery Association, Powerball®, Mega Millions®, the IRS, or any government body. Game names and marks are trademarks of their respective owners, used only to identify the games and describe publicly known payout structures.
Upcoming drawing dates and jackpot amounts displayed on the Site are retrieved automatically: Powerball® figures from Powerball’s public website, and Mega Millions® figures from a public Ohio Lottery feed carrying Mega Millions jackpot information. Such third-party data is provided for information only and may be delayed, estimated, incomplete, or inaccurate. We do not verify it and disclaim all responsibility for it; winning numbers and jackpots can be confirmed only through official lottery channels.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR CURRENT.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WINNING.MONSTER AND ITS OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF MONEY, PROFITS, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the Site's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction.
